The Center for Bioethics & Clinical Leadership Internship Program
The Center for Bioethics and Clinical Leadership offers three programs; The Bioethics Program, the MS in Clinical Leadership in Healthcare Management Program, and the 8-year Leadership in Medicine Program.
The Masters in Bioethics degree offered through The Bioethics Program, a joint degree offered through Union Graduate College and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, offers students supervised experience through practica in clinical ethics consultation and clinical leadership. On-site practica are offered through Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the medical institutions in the Bioethics Consortium.
The MS in Clinical Leadership Program does not require an internship. However, many students opt to participate in a graduate health administration internship. The internship is an excellent resume builder and a way to gain valuable hands-on experience to add relevance to the classroom experience. Additionally, over 95% of our graduate internships are paid positions. Students find the internship a practical way to help fund their degree.
The 8-year Leadership in Medicine (LIM) Program is a joint program with Union College, Union Graduate College and Albany Medical College. Interested students should contact the Union College Admissions Office for information
LIM students have two graduate degree options: an MBA in Healthcare Management or an MS in Clinical Leadership in Healthcare Management. The internship is not required for the MS degree. The MBA has a 400 hour internship requirement. The internship provides students with hands-on health administration experience that adds relevance to the classroom experience and expands their understanding of healthcare systems.
