2012 Study tours in China
and Switzerland - Business leaders as "Executives-in-Residence"
welcome.
For the past few years, MBA students have had the chance to
visit these two countries and meet in small groups with business leaders from
organizations such as GE Global Research (Shanghai); HSBC Bank (Shanghai); ABB
Wind Energy (Beijing); Roche (Basel); Helsana (Zurich); and The Swiss Red Cross
(Bern). The trips also include the participation in lectures and
discussions with leading academics. The Switzerland trip specifically
targets healthcare and provides lessons to Americans interested in the reform
of healthcare financing and delivery. In China, both a general business track
and a healthcare track is included that has visits to both state-of-the art and
traditional medical facilities.
These
are not your typical business tours. Both trips are coordinated by
professors who have lived and worked in these countries. By tapping into
personal contacts, they create a one-of-a-kind experience for our MBA students
who also receive course credit for their participation in this rigorous
academic and cultural experience. Each year, our students rave about the
high-touch meetings and experiences they have in China and
Switzerland. They talk about how the trip changes their approach to
the way they think about business and healthcare. We believe our
study tours can provide the same value and insight to our MBA alumni and local
business leaders.
We
would like to extend this opportunity to alumni and business leaders to join us
as an "Executive in Residence" in the China and Swiss Study
Tours. As an “executive in residence” you can provided valuable
insight to our students while simultaneously learning about business in China
or Switzerland. You would also be providing scholarship support to help
make this important global learning experience possible for our MBA
students.
