Shippee, ’85, named CEO of Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services
David
Shippee recently was appointed chief executive officer of Whitney M. Young, Jr.
Health Services, a nonprofit,
community-based health organization that provides affordable primary and
preventive care.
He comes to Whitney Young from Chase
Brexton Health Services in Baltimore, where he served as CEO for the past 20
years. During his tenure, Shippee expanded Chase Brexton from a single-site clinic
to a regional community health center with four locations across central
Maryland and an annual budget of $48 million.
Shippee’s appointment at Whitney Young
returns him to his native upstate New York. Before joining Chase Brexton, he
worked for four years as administrative director of the AIDS treatment program
at Albany Medical Center.
A graduate of Binghamton University,
State University of New York, Shippee earned his MBA in Healthcare Management
from Union Graduate College in 1985.
